College basketball fans around the country will tune in to Fox Sports Net on Saturday, December 12, to catch the action of the 16th Annual John R. Wooden Classic presented by Toyo Tires, live from Honda Center in Anaheim. The event will be carried nationally by Fox Sport Net affiliates, reaching more than 80 million homes. In Southern California, both games will be televised on PRIME TICKET. ISP Sports, the official radio partner of the Wooden Classic, will carry the UCLA/Mississippi State game on the UCLA Basketball Radio Network (AM 570 KLAC locally).

“Fox Sports Net is known for airing the very best in sports and we are thrilled to have them on board with the Wooden Classic, a staple in college basketball,” said Bob Wagner, SVP/COO of Honda Center.

Coverage of the event will take place live from Honda Center in Anaheim, California, beginning at 11:00 AM PST. The first game is set to tip off at 11:05 AM PST with game two beginning at approximately 1:30 PM PST.

The 2009 event boasts four perennial Top 25 teams, with each participating school having posted a conference title the last two seasons. In addition, Georgetown University will be visiting California for the first time in eight years as they square off against defending Pacific-10 Conference champion Washington and long-time Wooden Classic participant UCLA faces Mississippi State, who returns all five starters from a team that one season ago captured the SEC Tournament Title.

In addition to the UCLA – Mississippi State Wooden Classic game being heard in Southern California on AM 570 KLAC, each school’s local market will carry the games on their flagship radio station.

Established in 1994, the Wooden Classic is an annual tribute to the legendary former coach and the excellence he personifies. The event, co-produced by Pantheon International, LLC and Anaheim Arena Management, LLC, has a tradition of bringing the nation’s finest college programs to Southern California.
